BJP MP Maneka Gandhi-led NGO, People for Animals has filed a complaint to the Indore police in connection to a viral image of a horse who was painted in Bharatiya Janata Party’s flag colors. The incident was reported during Jan Ashirwad Yatra.

Yatra spearheaded by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ex-municipal corporator Ramdas Garg had brought the horse on rent before getting it painted.

Bharatiya Janata Party has launched Jan Ashirwad Yatras in 22 states in order to introduce the new ministers in Centre. It was conducted on Monday.

39 ministers, who were inducted into the Union council of ministers on July 7, were part of these Yatras across 22 states.

Local representatives of the NGO, People for Animals (PFA), have filed a complaint at Indore’s Sanyogitaganj police station and have sought strict legal action under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

People For Animals

People for Animals was founded in 1992 by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Maneka Gandhi (an Indian politician, animal rights activist, and environmentalist). PFA is India’s largest animal welfare organisation which is a non-governmental and non-profitable association.

Its headquarter is located in New Delhi and there are over 100 regional units of PFA in India. The organisation is working towards maintenance of animal rights and welfare in India, with an aim to establish various animal welfare centres across India’s 600 districts.
