Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday alleges that the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been placed under house arrest since his meeting with the farmers protesting in the National Capital. However, Delhi police has denied the allegations.

The ruling party has claimed that CM Kejriwal was deliberately blocked following the call for Bharat Bandh by the protesting farmers in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party has also claimed that all of his meetings are cancelled forcibly.

“When our MLAs went to meet the chief minister they were beaten and thrown on the streets. The party volunteers were also not allowed to meet. The Centre is scared that if Delhi’s chief minister goes to support the farmers on the day of Bharat Bandh, its lies and false assurances will be exposed,” said AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj.

The party also claimed that the Delhi police following the orders from Union Ministry, got three mayors from the various civic bodies of the city to protest before the CM’s residence in order to use it as an excuse to block the exits.

Bhardwaj also alleged that the CM’s residence is completely barricaded and no one is allowed to enter or leave the premises. He further added that all the official meetings scheduled for the day are cancelled citing the situation.

Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner for North District, Anto Alphonse denied all the allegations and called them lies and baseless with sharing an outside picture of CM’s residence. “This claim of CM Delhi being put on house arrest is incorrect. He exercises his right to free movement within the law of the land. A picture of the house entrance says it all,” stated a tweet from the official account of DCP North Delhi.

Farmers have been protesting against the three agriculture laws calling them anti-farmer.
