The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Central Delhi directed the Daryagang Station House Officer to allow the detainees to meet their lawyers in the anti CAA protests.

A complaint was filed by a practicing lawyer, that the police were denying detainees their right to legal aid, as provided under Article 22 of the Indian Constitution.

The Magistrate Karkardooma, at 4:30 AM, passed a handwritten order permitting the detainees to meet their lawyers as specified in Section 41D of the Criminal Procedure Code. He stated that most of the persons who were detained by the police were minors and cited that minors cannot be detained as per law. He further directed the police to provide medical care to the detainees.
