A high-profile Cruise Drug Case which involves Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been a hot topic right from the beginning of this October. The case is becoming more complex with every passing day with a lot of twists.
After a lawyer moved Supreme Court on Wednesday challenging certain Sections of NDPS Act and allow the purchase of certain drugs up to certain level, senior Supreme Court advocate and Rajya Sabha MP, KTS Tulsi has also suggested some reforms in the act and in connection to the drug use.
“Alcohol, gutkha, tobacco also do harm. But these drugs are allowed to consume by paying tax. Then why not on drugs? Drugs are allowed to be used after-tax collection. On many occasions drugs have to be taken through medicine, then why not the use of drugs should be approved,” said KTS Tulsi.
Suggesting reforms in the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, 1985, MP Tulsi said, “The NDPS Act is often misused to harass opponents regarding the use of drugs in more or less quantity. The law of NDPS Act needs to be reformed.”
