The accused bomber Jeetu Yadav was identified promptly by the police officials present in the premises during the incident.

As per sources, the blast was a result of a clash between two groups of lawyers on a complaint and was supposed to be an attack on one of the lawyers who were present in the court. Meanwhile, Sanjeev Lodhi, a Joint Secretary of the Lucknow Bar Association claimed that he was the target behind the explosion since he had been complaining about a few judicial officers.
