Taking note of the outrage because of the misuse of power by an IAS officer to vacate the government-run stadium to walk his dog, the Centre government issued orders that the bureaucrat and his wife should be transferred.

On Thursday, a picture of one couple with their dog walking in Thyagraj stadium went viral over the internet.

The couple was heavily trolled over their transfer to different locations. As per the order, IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar will be transferred to Ladakh and his wife Rinku Dugga will go to Arunachal Pradesh.

Athletes and coaches who used to practice in the stadium complained that this has been happening for the past few months. They were forced to vacate the stadium before 7 pm so that Delhi’s Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjeev Khirwar could walk his dog in the stadium.

With this episode coming to light, the Delhi government has issued orders to keep all the state sports facilities open till 10 pm for athletes who want to practice till late at night.
