A police inspector from the Jalore district of Rajasthan has been suspended after he was accused of making advances towards a married woman and pestering her to visit him at his residence all alone. The development came after an audio clip of the incident went viral.
The accused, Sabir Mohammad of Jaswantpura police station, was suspended on Monday, taking note of the clip of purported telephonic talks with the woman, which went viral on social media platforms two days ago.
Jalore Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh assured that a departmental probe would be ordered against the officer following the serious allegations against him.
As per the audio clip, the SHO called the woman when she was in the market to buy the vegetable along with her children. He asked her whether the sand he had sent for her under-construction house had reached her or not.
The woman replied to his question that why had he sent it and that too in the afternoon. The officer was heard bragging about his position and saying who could stop him from doing so.
In the audio clip, the SHO also asked the woman whether her husband knows about this call, to which the woman refused. He can be heard saying that she has made him crazy and requested her to visit his residence for five minutes, telling her that he was all alone at his home.
