The dead body of 22-year-old girl, who went missing two months ago, has been recovered near an ashram owned by late Samajwadi Party leader Fateh Bahadur Singh. The body is found in a decomposed form in a septic tank.
“We interrogated the accused Rajol Singh on remand. After which the SOG team recovered the woman’s body on Thursday. The body was buried in the plot near the ashram. We used local intelligence and mobile surveillance to identify the spot where the body was buried,” Unnao’s Additional Superintendent of Police Shashi Shekhar Singh.
“On the basis of the inputs provided by the accused, the police carried out an excavation in the septic tank at the vacant plot near the Ashram and recovered the dead body of the woman,” the police said.
Reportedly, the autopsy report of the deceased tells that she was strangulated and her neck was broken. Her body was buried in a septic tank and was wrapped in a blanket.
Rajol Singh, son of former UP minister Fateh Bahadur Singh, is the main accused in the matter. He has been arrested today. The girl allegedly went missing on December 8, 2021 from her residence in Kashiram Chowki area.
The mother submitted that she had lodged a complaint accusing him of kidnapping her daughter. She had also attempted self-immolation in front of the vehicle of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow alleging laxity by the police to find out the whereabouts of her daughter.
That incident led to the arrest of Rajol Singh on February 25. He was again taken into custody on PCR remand and was interrogated on February 4 for nearly eight hours. The police came to know about his companion Suraj, who is a resident of Nava village of Hardoi police station Mubarakpur and with whom he (Rajol) had carried out the killing.
The inspector-in-charge has been claimed to be suspended over dereliction of duty.
“Inspector did not convert the missing case further to IPC sections, which substantiated his negligence into the case and he has been suspended by superintendent of police Dinesh Tripathi,” said ASP.
