Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan government has amended the Rajasthan Judicial Services Rules, 2010, and has approved 5 percent reservation in Rajasthan Judicial Services to the candidates belonging to Most Backward Classes (MBCs).
The cabinet has increased the reservation to five percent for MBCs which was earlier 1 percent only. Besides the Gurjar community, Gadiya Luhar, Banjara, Gadaria, Raiyka Raibari also comes under the Most Backward Classes.
“Amendments in the Rajasthan Judicial Services Rules, 2010 for allowing 5 percent preservation instead of 1 percent in the Rajasthan Judicial Services for the candidates from the Most Backward Communities including the Gurjars have been approved through the state cabinet,” stated Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
He further mentioned, “Through this amendment, candidates of the Most Backward Community, are proposed to be given 5 percent reservation instead of 1 percent in the Rajasthan Judicial Services. It is noteworthy that the candidates of the Most Backward Community for a long time had been demanding changes in the Rajasthan Judicial Services for a long time so that they can get 5 percent reservation instead of 1 percent in the state judicial services.”
