Rajasthan High Court has granted more time to Sachin Pilot and camp to come with a fresh petition by Friday. The matter will now be heard by a division bench.
Prithviraj Meena, a loyalist supporter of Sachin Pilot camp and a congress leader had moved Rajasthan High Court in the Thursday morning challenging the notice issued by state assembly speaker for the disqualification of 19 congress MLAs for anti-party activities. The petitioner has filed the plea through senior advocates Harish Salve and Mukul Rohtagi.
The matter was taken up for hearing at 3 pm during which senior counsel Harish Salve sought more time to amend the plea and challenge the constitutional validity of the notice issued by CP Joshi.
Rebel leader Sachin Pilot has sacked from the posts of Rajasthan Deputy CM and state PCC president on Tuesday. State CM Ashok Gehlot has blamed the BJP for attempting to destabilize the state government by poaching MLAs.
Special Operation Group (SOG) has also registered a case against Sachin Pilot in allegations related to poaching of Congress MLAs and issued a notice to Sachin Pilot to record his statement.
State assembly speaker CP Joshi had issued a disqualification notice to Sachin Pilot and eighteen other MLAs under Tenth Schedule of the constitution of India. MLAs were supposed to file their reply by Friday.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has decided to induct the new cabinet today and has communicated that the doors are open for Sachin Pilot if he is willing to join.
Ashok Gehlot has alleged, “Some of our colleagues fell into the BJP trap, became over-ambitious and got involved in horse-trading. We have the proof that horse-trading was taking place. Money was offered. And who gave the clarification that nothing was happening? Those who were themselves part of the conspiracy are giving clarifications.”
He alleged Sachin Pilot of being involved in horse-trading and stated, “Our deputy chief minister and PCC president himself was doing the deal and was giving statements that no horse-trading was taking place. What clarifications are you giving when you yourself were involved in it.”
