In the mysterious death case of Sushant Sing Rajput, the prominent Supreme Court lawyer, Sarthak Nayak has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Bombay which mentions seeking an independent investigation into the bizarre passing away of the actor.
The lawyer, in his letter, suggested an inquiry by an independent body like CBI or SIT by involving a retired judge into this probe. This was held due to the lack of coordination between the two-state police i.e. Mumbai Police and Bihar Police, so, in order to seek justice, it was in the best interest to conduct the investigation by an independent body.
He also mentioned that as the crime executed in Mumbai and not in Bihar, the deceased’s father decided to file the case in Patna but the jurisdiction doesn’t conform to it.
Further, he laid down that during the interrogation of Rhea by the Mumbai Police, Anil Kumar, Maharashtra Home Minister tweeted that, ‘Sushant had committed suicide owing to depression born out of professional rivalry.’ It was also observed that he thanked Mumbai Police but this was a mere attempt to save Rhea.
While taking the reference of the Arushi Talwar case, he remarked that when the CBI took over the case, it was too late as the evidence had already been destroyed. And, in order to avoid the same circumstances in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, it is significant enough to take the mandatory decisions as soon as possible.
He also stated that the Police have been evading from the entire situation and while conducting the cross-examination, no FIR has been filed or lodged. Moreover, Sushant’s father publically claimed regarding the FIR against Rhea, alleging ‘cheating’, ‘abetment to suicide’, and many other claims.
The independent body, SIT of the Bihar Police has arrived in Mumbai and commenced the scrutiny. The team is also looking into the evidences and various proofs collected by the Mumbai Police during the entire course of the investigation. On the other hand, Rhea has requested a legal counsel and moved to the Supreme Court to get the FIR transfer to Mumbai.
