Justice P Keshava Rao, a sitting judge of Telangana High Court passed away in the early hours of Monday. He died of cardiac arrest. He was undergoing treatment for brain tumour and other ailments.
Justice Justice P Keshava Rao died at the age of 60 and was admitted to a private hospital last week. Everyone was informed about his demise at 3.47 am.
The mortal remains would be kept in Madhuban Enclave on street no. 4, Habsiguda (his place of residence), till 2 pm and then the funeral would be held at Jubilee Hills Mahaprasthanam at 3 p.m.
On the demise of Justice Rao, the work in Telangana High Court and subordinate courts of the state has been suspended for today, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao mourned the loss and recalled Justice Rao’s service to the poor. He has directed the state officials to perform the last rites of Justice Rao with full state honours.
Justice P Keshava Rao was born on March 29, 1961 and earned a law degree from Kakatiya University, Warangal. He enrolled as a member on the rolls of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in April 1986.
His areas of practice included Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, and Election matters. He appeared as the government pleader for undivided Andhra Pradesh. He was appointed as a Special Standing Counsel for CBI (Special Public Prosecutor) from March 2010 till April 2016.
He was elevated as a High Court judge on September 21, 2017.
