As per the reports, Twitter’s new Chief Twit Elon Musk has been planning to revamp the entire verification process on the platform and therefore has set a deadline for the feature to be released.
As per The Verge, Twitter employees who have been working on this project are told on Sunday to complete the feature by November 7 or they will be fired. The employees have been working late night and on weekend to complete the task.
The paid verification feature will change the Twitter Blue feature which is available in some regions only. Twitter Blue is a $ 4.99-month subscription that unlocks additional features which allow a user to edit or undo their tweet.
The platform is planning to charge $19.99 for the new Twitter Blue subscription which was introduced almost a year ago. The users who are already verified will get 90 days to subscribe or else they will lose their blue tick.
This is one of the several changes that Elon has been making after closing the long-stretched Twitter takeover deal. Among these decisions include firing top management, plans for workforce layoff, etc.
