Considering the pandemic situation and the upheave in COVID-19 cases, the Allahabad high court made it clear that the video call facility is made universally available to all lawyers and litigants.

The High Court has further stated that the physical functioning will be resumed by 8th June while citing that ‘VC facility is universally available to be availed by any lawyer/litigant in person.’

“The video call facility will be provided to all wishful advocates from July 13 onwards. The VC facility will be logged in online with a link on the official site of the high court. The link will be provided one day before the date of hearing,” stated the High Court.

The court further added that “VC cubicles have been set up at Stadium Pavilion, where lawyers may appear virtually, using seamless connectivity. These cubicles can cater to 30 simultaneous VC sessions during time slots earmarked for Courts separately. Additionally, VC cubicles at the identified eSewa Kendras have also been earmarked and exclusively set apart for HC hearings enabling lawyers to participate in virtual hearings at the Kendra closest to their residence/office without having to travel to the High Court premises.”
