In a horrifying incident, a 12-year-old boy was gang-raped by four friends in the Seelampur area of Delhi, India. He was allegedly thrashed with rods and bricks. Reportedly, the accused also inserted a rod in his genitals.
The victim is in critical condition and is in the ICU. As per the reports, three accused are minors.
The incident came to light after the mother of the victim told the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) that her son was sexually assaulted on September 18. The mother stated that her boy was brought home by locals. As per DCW, the victim informed his parents about the incident only on September 22She submitted that the accused inserted a rod into the genitals of the victim before thrashing him with bricks and rods.
“In Delhi, not only girls but even boys are not safe. A 12-year-old boy was brutally raped by four people and left in a half-dead condition after being beaten with sticks. Our team has registered an FIR in the matter. The boy is presently admitted in hospital and is in ICU,” tweeted Swati Maliwal, the DCW chairperson.
“A team was sent to the hospital and met the parents, but they refused to give a statement. The child was under medical observation. Two days later, they told us that their son was sodomised and assaulted. A case under sections of unnatural offences and POCSO Act has been registered,” said DCP (Northeast) Sanjay Sain.
During the investigation, the police discovered that all the accused were his neighbours and they targeted the victim after a fight. “One of the accused has been apprehended and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. Efforts are on to apprehend the remaining two. The victim is still under medical observation. His statement will be recorded later,” DCP Sain said.
