Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday, interrogated Dev Ram Saini, an OSD to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in context to the investigation of alleged suicide by police officer Vishnudutt Vishnoi in Churu on May 23.
A special crime unit of CBI reached Jaipur to record Dev Ram Saini’s statement in context to the Vishnoi’s death case.
Vishnudutt Vishnoi, who was working as an SHO in Rajgarh, found hanging from the ceiling in his official residence in Churu.
The move comes in such a situation where the Rajasthan government is in the political tumult over the MLA Sachin Pilot’s resign from the Congress party from the post of Deputy Chief Minister.
But the sources have clarified quite well that the matter is being professionally investigated by the probe agency and state government had handed over the case itself to CBI.
On Monday evening, CBI has questioned Congress MLA Krishna Poonia straight for three hours at her residence. It is also communicated that people are only examined as a part of the investigation and are not accused until the probe is completed.
Deceased’s brother had filed a complaint with the Rajasthan government alleging that he faced extreme pressure and therefore took this drastic step.
Two suicide notes had been recovered from the spot. Among them, one was addressed to his parents and the other one addressing the Superintendent of Police of the concerned district. In his suicide note, Vishnoi had mentioned that he has tried to give his best to the Rajasthan police and facing pressure.
A screenshot of Whatsapp chat between Vishnudutt Vishnoi and one of his activist friends went viral in past few days after his death. In that Whatsapp chat screenshot, he talked about falling prey to dirty politics.
Some BJP and BSP leaders have accused Congress MLA Krishna Poonia of pressurizing the honest and hardworking station police officer Vishnudutt Vishnoi. The allegations are denied by Poonia.
