The Central Government on 18 January issued a notification declaring that the Civil Judgments of the superior courts of the United Arab Emirates are now enforceable in Indian Courts. As per the notification, UAE is considered to be a reciprocating territory under Section 44A of the Code of Civil Procedure.

Under Section 44A of CPC, a decree of any superior court of a reciprocating territory shall be executed in India as a decree passed by the Indian district court. Accordingly, a Reciprocating Territory means any country or territory outside India which the Central Government may declare to be a reciprocating territory for the purpose of this section.
