As per the reports, Elon Musk’s transgender daughter has filed documents in court seeking her name change to cut ties with her biological father and to declare her gender identity as a female.
18-year-old Xavier Musk has filed documents in Superior Court in Santa Monica to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. She has filed for a name change and birth certificate which will reflect her gender identity as a female.
She filed the documents a day after turning 18 in April this year. 18 years is the age of consent in California.
“Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” reads the documents seeking a name change.
She is ditching the “Musk” surname and wants to use the surname “Wilson” which is her mother Justine’s last name.
Famous Canadian writer Justine Wilson and Elon Musk got married in 2000. Their firstborn son died within 10 weeks due to infant death syndrome in 2002. Then, Vivian and her twin Griffin were born in 2004. They are the eldest among Musk’s seven children. Justine and Elon got divorced in 2008.
In the past, Tesla and SpaceX Chief has received backlash for his tweet in connection to preferred gender pronouns. “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare,” Musk had tweeted.
