A Delhi court today has issued a fresh death warrant to the convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape case. As per the new warrant, the four convicts Mukesh, Vinay Sharma, Akshay Kumar, and Pawan Gupta will be hanged on 1 February at 6 AM.
The convicts were earlier scheduled to be hanged on 22 January.
Earlier in the afternoon, President Ram Nath Kovind has rejected the mercy plea of Mukesh, one of the four convicts in the case.
On 14 January, Supreme Court dismissed the Curative petitions filed by two death row convicts in the Nirbhaya Gangrape case – Vinay Sharma and Mukesh.
