A controversial businessman and tabloid owner, Jeetu Soni has been arrested on Sunday in Gujarat who was absconding in 45 cases. He has been sent to the five days of police remand by a local court.
Jeetu Soni has a bounty of 1.5 lakh on his name and was wanted in many cases including human trafficking, rape, land grabbing, blackmailing, forgery, cheating, extortion, and fraud.
“So that crime does not increase during the unlock 1, a drive was launched to nab the criminals. In the zone, in four incidents, a total of 125 illegal arms were seized. Some days ago, Mahendra Soni was arrested in Gujarat. After that, the main focus was on arresting Jitu Soni who was absconding in 45 cases and carrrying a reward of Rs 1.5 lakh,” said Indore IG, Vivek Sharma during a press conference.
Police has conducted a raid earlier during which Jeetu Soni’s brother Mahendra Soni, facing similar charges, was arrested. While Jeetu Soni managed to escape.
IG further added, “We will form a team that will supervise the investigation proceedings. The crime branch did an incredible job in the operation. Cyberteam and local police personnel also worked hard. In the coming days, we will arrest more absconding mafias.”
Lucky, Vicky, Jignesh, and Hukumchand Soni are also absconding.
He used to enjoy political patronage from Congress and BJP. But after his tabloid ran racy articles centred around a sex scandal, he lost the political favors.
Last year, three of his properties were demolished and police has raided Jeetu Soni owned dance bar, two bungalows, a hotel, restaurant, and other properties.
Five women and a man was arrested earlier in this honey trap case for blackmailing the influential people using sex tapes. 4,000 files were seized from their laptops and phones.

Jeetu Soni is a famous businessman in Indore and is the owner of the Sanjha Lokswami newspaper. He published the honey trap racket news reports in his newspaper and is also accused of posting audio and video clips the sini his newspaper’s Youtube channel.
