A Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) at Tumkur, Karnataka on Friday directed a local police station to book Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut for her tweet on farmers protesting the recently passed Farmers Acts.

The ruling came after a private complaint was filed by advocate Ramesh Naik under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure alleging that Ranaut has on 21st September, posted a message from her official Twitter account citing “People who spread misinformation and rumors about CAA that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about Farmer’s bill and causing terror in the nation, they are Terrorists. You very well know what I said but simply like to spread misinformation.”

While alleging that Ranaut has a clear intention to injure the people who are opposing the Farmers Bills, wantonly giving provocation with an intent to cause riots and promote the culture of non-violence in the young minds of society, the plea sought for registration of FIR for the offenses under Sections 153A, 504, 108 of the Indian Penal Code against the actor.

The plea further submitted that neither the police official nor the government had initiated any action to curb/check these activities suo moto and failed to register any case against the above named accused.

“It seems that the government authorities have turned a blind eye to the same and do not have any established measures or rules and guidelines to control and regulate the same. On the bare perusal of all this content it is more than evident that the government is least bothered and as usual waiting for some dangerous consequences to happen before taking some appropriate actions,” stated the plea.

Subsequently, the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court directed the inspector of Kyathasandra police station to register an FIR against Ranaut.

“Complaint filed under Application U/sec 156(3) of Cr.P.C for investigation. The Office is hereby directed to issue intimation to the CPI of Kyathasandra PS (Police Station) along with photostat of a copy of the complaint about the report,” stated the court.

Meanwhile, Kangana has later clarified that she did not call farmers terrorists and dared anybody to prove it. “Like Lord Krishna has Narayani Army, similarly Pappu has his Champu army that knows only to fight on the basis of rumors. This is my original tweet if somebody can prove that I called farmers terrorists then I will apologize and leave Twitter forever,” she had reportedly posted in Hindi.
