In yet another goof-up by Traffic police, Kerala Traffic Police has fined a car owner ₹500 for not wearing a helmet properly. As per the reports, the victim identified as Ajith A owns a Maruti Alto car and is a victim of the police error.

On December 7, 2021, Ajith received challan for “driving or causes or allows a motorcycle to be driven by wearing a protective headgear not securely fastened to the head of the wearer (helmet) (chin strap)”. 

The challan received shows two people riding a bike with the pillion rider not wearing a helmet. Simultaneously, the challan mentioned that vehicle class as ‘motor car’ with the registration number of Ajith’s car. 

Ajith A has decided to file a complaint with the Motor Vehicles Department.
