In a shameful and horrific incident, a 16-year old was allegedly raped by 400 men over the period of six months in the Beed district of Maharashtra. What’s more shocking is that even a policeman had allegedly sexually exploited her. The victim is now two months pregnant.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and Indian Penal Code. Four accused have been arrested so far.
As per the survivor, her mother passed away two years back. Her father married her off. She was allegedly beaten and assaulted by her husband and in-laws. After over a year, she left her matrimonial home and went to her father’s home.
She started begging on the streets after her father refused to take her back. Over the period of six months, she was allegedly raped by over 400 men which included a policeman too.
She allegedly tried to lodge a complaint against Ambajogai Police Station but the policeman took advantage of her. “I have been abused by many people. I went to Ambajogai police station several times to file a complaint, but the Police took no action against the culprits. Instead, I was harassed by a policeman,” the complainant said.
