Six people have been arrested in Hyderabad who were involved in illegally marrying a 16-year old girl to a 57-year old man for the sake of money. The arrest was made on Thursday.
The 57-year old man is absconding after the marriage and is also booked for sexually assaulting the minor girl.
As per the police, the girl’s aunty who was under debts, planned to marry off the girl to the middle aged man and took more than Rs 2 lakh from him.
The accused woman conspired along with her husband, son, two agents, and a Qazi. They got the girl married by submitting the false documents to the Qazi.
Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s cousin, police has arrested the six people and efforts are being made to nab the other accused. It is also reported that the man had allegedly raped the girl at a lodge.
