Pramod Kumar was in complete shock when came to know about the challan which was issued by the Berhampur Traffic Police on December 25. In the challan, it was mentioned that vehicle number OR-07W / 4593 has been fined Rs 1,000 for not wearing a helmet.

The truck driver, Pramod Kumar even talked to the officials raising his concern but didn’t get a satisfactory answer. Leaving him with no other option, Pramod Kumar had to pay the amount to renew the permit.

“I have been driving the truck for the past three years. It is engaged in water supply. I went to the RTO for renewal as my permit had expired. I came to know about the pending fine then, which was driving my truck without wearing a helmet. They are unnecessarily harassing and collecting money from people. The government should take steps to prevent such errors,” Pramod Kumar said.
