In an incident that is somewhat similar to the Bollywood movie Kaagaz, a 102-year-old man rode a decorated wedding chariot and took out a procession to the tunes of the brass band just to prove that he is alive. He has been proved dead in the government records.

102-year-old Duli Chand, a resident of Gandhra village in Rohtak district, wore a garland of Indian currency notes and took out a procession from Mansarovar Park to Canal rest house in Rohtak city seeking restoration of his pension which was stopped in March this year.

Duli Chand was accompanied by the former president of the Haryana Unit of Aam Aadmi Party, Naveen Jaihind. He was on his way to hand over a memorandum to administrative officers and former minister Manish Grover urging them to restore his old-age pension. He visited government offices multiple times and showed the relevant documents too but didn’t get any response.
