Mumbai police has booked famous television actor Karanvir Bohra and five others for allegedly duping a 40-year-old woman of Rs 1.99 crore. He was last seen in Kangana Ranaut’s controversial show “Lock Upp”.
As per the complaint, the actor had promised to return the money with 2.5 percent interest. The complainant has also alleged that when she asked for the money, Manoj Bohra alias Karanvir Bohra and his wife Tajinder Sidhu aka Teejay Sidhu threatened to shoot her.
Popular news agency ANI reported, “Case registered against 6 people including actor Manoj Bohra alias Karanvir Bohra for allegedly cheating a 40-year-old woman of Rs 1.99 crores after promising to return it at 2.5% interest; woman claimed that only an amount of over Rs 1cr was returned: Oshiwara PS.”
“The woman also claimed that when she asked for the amount, Bohra & his wife Tajinder Sidhu did not respond properly & threatened to shoot her. Police have started an investigation & will soon record their statements: Oshiwara Police Station,” it added.
During his time at Lock Upp, Karanvir was seen telling the other participants that he was in debt and had suicidal thoughts when he was not able to return the money. He had also said that many cases were registered against him for not paying the loan amount. The actor went on to add that he might have committed suicide if he had no family to look after.
