A 38-year old woman, an advocate by profession has attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the Telangana High Court building. Luckily a Special Protection Force Personnel prevented the incident.
The incident took place on Tuesday. Woman is identified as Bommaraveni Kavitha from Godaverikhani, Peddapalli district.
The woman took the extreme step alleging inaction of Ramagundam police in investigating her matter. She had lodged a complaint against Murali, an advocate also from Godavarikhani.
Kavitha alleged that Muralli had raped and impregnated her under the pretext of promise to marry her. Then, he kept delaying. She filed a complaint in a local police station, when he barged into her home and threatened her.
Distressed by the alleged inaction by police, the woman has filed a petition in the High Court seeking intervention and protection from Murali and his family as she faced a threat to her life from them.
“The incident was reported around 11 a.m. She had one of her legs dangling from a small wall on the first floor of the HC. A security personnel saw this and rushed to stop her. She was taken to senior court officials who, along with police, counselled her. No case has been booked against anybody, including Murali,” said a police officer.
