Income Tax Department officials have raided the properties of director Anurag Kashyap and actress Tapasee Pannu in connection to the alleged tax evasion. The raid is being carried out in 20 different locations in Mumbai and Pune.

The IT department is also searching the properties of Vikas Behal and people associated with production and distribution company Phantom Films which was dissolved in 2018. The searches are underway at the properties of Shibhashish Sarkar (CEO Reliance Entertainment), Afsar Zaidi (CEO Exceed), and Vijay Subramaniam (CEO Kwan). Exceed Entertainment and Kwan Entertainment are topmost celebrity management agencies of Mumbai.

In January 2021, Madhu Mantena bought the shares of Anurag Kashyap, Vikram Motwane and Vikas Bahl in Phantom Films which confirms the exit of three from the company. Mantena, Kashyap, Motwane, and Bahl founded Phantom Films in 2011. In 2015, Reliance Entertainment picked 50% stake in the company.

Then in 2018, the team expressed their wish to not to work together in this alliance after sexual assault allegations came out publicly against Vikas Bahl. Though, all the charges were cleared by an internal complaints committee of Reliance Entertainment.
