Jammu and Kashmir High Court has suspended a sub judge from the service following a complaint filed by Bar Association, Uri. The decision of suspension was taken at a full court resolution on Thursday.

A sub-judge in Uri, Imtiyaz Ahmed Lone was suspended after completion of an enquiry that was initiated following a complaint by the Bar Association, Uri.

“Consequent, upon the Full Court resolution dated 31-12-2020, a regular inquiry is initiated against Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Sub-Judge Uri and pending such enquiry he is placed under suspension with immediate effect and is attached with the office of the Registrar Judicial, Srinagar wing of the High Court,” said the order passed by Registrar General of J&K High Court, Jawad Ahmad.

The court has also ordered that Lone shall be paid subsistence allowance as admissible under rules.

The President of Uri Bar Association, Shamim Ahmad Chalkoo, said that a complaint was lodged against Lone by the Bar Association. Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla initiated a preliminary enquiry against Lone. The enquiry report was then submitted to the High Court and thereafter, Lone was placed under suspension from services.

Jammu and Kashmir High Court has transferred Noor Mohammad Mir, Secretary DLSA Kupwara, to Uri and appointed him as a sub-judge.

“In the interest of administration, Sh. Noor Mohammad Mir, Secretary DLSA Kupwara, is hereby transferred and posted as Sub-Judge Uri in place of Sh. Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Sub-Judge (Under suspension),” said the HC order issued on Thursday.
