A special court has sentenced a man to 22 months of rigorous imprisonment for stalking a minor girl. The incident is of Thane, Maharashtra.

Besides 22 months imprisonment, Additional Sessions Judge R R Vaishnav also imposed a fine worth Rs 500 on the convict Sunilkumar Dukhilal Jaiswal.

The special court held him guilty under Section 354D (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

It was submitted by the additional public prosecutor Ujjwala Moholkar that the convict repeatedly stalked the victim who was a daughter of a vegetable vendor. Her father had filed a complaint in June 2016.
