Self made Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has been accused of making false promises and also threatening her. The complainant has also sought Rs 10 crore compensation.
Scriptwriter and lyricist writer Priyanka Sharma has filed a complaint with the Range Commissioner of Haryana’s Director General of Police, Faridabad, through mail and has also sought a public apology.
1,200 Songs and 40 Stories Shared With Actor
In the complaint, Priyanka Sharma submitted that she contacted Randeep Hooda through social media where the actor had assured to work on her script.
Priyanka claimed that she had sent 1,200 songs and 40 stories to Randeep Hooda, Asha Hooda, Mandeep Hooda, Ajli Hooda, Panchali Choudhary (Randeep’s manager) and Renuka Pillai (makeup artist) on email and WhatsApp in the past 15 years.
The complainant has alleged that when she didn’t receive a response from the actor, she asked the actor to get the script and lyrics back. She was allegedly threatened.
Priyanka has sent a legal notice to Randeep Hooda through her lawyer Rajat Kalsan and has sought Rs 10 crore compensation for the eight years long harassment.
Recently also, the actor received criticism after a 43-second-clip from an event organised by a media house in 2012 went viral over social media. In the video, he was seen cracking a joke on the politician and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati.
Following the controversy over his ‘sexist and casteist’ joke video, he was removed as the ambassador of Convention for the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), United Nation’s environmental treaty in May 2021.
