A picture of women constables clicking selfies with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi went viral on Wednesday. However, this cannot be considered a happy moment for the women constables as they are likely to face legal action for clicking selfies on duty and that too in the uniform. The UP police officials categorised it as “indiscipline”.
“The women constables who posed for selfies with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will face action,” said Lucknow Police Commissioner D.K. Thakur.
If Clicking Selfies With Me Is A Crime, Punish Me Instead
“The news is coming that Yogi ji got so upset with this picture that he wants to take action against these women cops. If it is a crime to take pictures with me, then I should also be punished for it, it does not suit the government to spoil the career of these hardworking and loyal cops,” tweeted Priyanka Gandhi.
pic.twitter.com/6wiGunRFEe

Priyanka Gandhi was on her way to meet the family of a sanitation worker, Arun Valmiki, who died in police custody. She was stopped on her way to Agra at the entry point of the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. She was allowed to visit the family later.
“The police told me that I do not have permission to go to Agra. They always stop me whenever I go anywhere. I want to meet the deceased’s family. What is the problem with this?” said Priyanka while in detention.
