A 68 year old woman has filed a lawsuit against the American singer-songwriter, author and visual artist, Bob Dylan (80) accusing him of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress. The woman alleged that the rock star exploited his status as a musician to provide [her] with alcohol and drugs and sexually abuse her multiple times, used threats of physical violence.
In the lawsuit, the woman who is only identified by the initials JC has alleged that Bob had abused her over a six weeks period between April and May 1965.
JC, the accuser from the state of Connecticut filed the lawsuit in New York Supreme Court under state’s Child Victims’ Act on Friday. She alleged that the singer had caused her psychological damage and emotional trauma for which she sought unspecified damage and a jury trial.
The suit was filed just a day before closure of a temporary legal look back window of NY State’s Child Victims’ Act which allowed the filing of historical abuse allegations.

In 2019, the Child Victims’ Act opened a year long window for all the survivors of sexual abuse to sue their perpetrators irrespective of when the crime occured. The look back window was extended by a year considering pandemic situations. Over 9,000 survivors sued their perpetrators.
Bob Dylan Called Claim Untrue
80 year old Bob Dylan’s spokesperson has denied the allegations stating “the 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended”.
