After two days of questioning in the National capital, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday has arrested PDP youth wing leader Waheed Ur-Rehman Para in connection with the arrest of suspended DSP Davinder Singh and Hizbul Mujahideen commander Naveed Babu.

Para was summoned by NIA and was questioned since Monday over his alleged involvement in the Hizbul Mujahideen terror group. Para has been campaigning in South Kashmir as he has filed a nomination for District Development Council (DDC) elections from Pulwama.

“Today NIA arrested Waheed Ur Rehman Parra, the youth wing leader of People’s Democratic Party, in connection with the Naveed Babu-Davinder Singh case for supporting Hizbul Mujahideen in conspiracy with the other accused persons,” said an NIA spokesperson.

Para was summoned under Section Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code and was asked to appear before the NIA at its headquarter in Delhi. The federal agency has summoned him in connection to the probe against suspended Jammu and Kashmir DSP Davinder Singh who was arrested in January this year.

Recently, the agency has filed a charge sheet about the role of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), HM militants, and Singh in the terror case.
