On Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a 13,500-page charge-sheet in the horrible 2019 Pulwama terror attack alleged to be carried out the bombing at the behest of Pakistan. Overall 19 people have been named by the agency including Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar among others.
The charge sheet has been filed before a special NIA court in Jammu.
Among nineteen persons that are named in the charge-sheet, seven are from Pakistan. JeM Chief Masood Azhar is said to be the mastermind behind this brutal terror attack in which 40 CRPF soldiers were killed. His brothers Abdul Rauf Asghar and Ammar Alvi, and nephew Umar Farooq are also named in the charge sheet.
Farooq was the son of Ibrahim Athar who was accused of hijacking IC-814. He was residing in India to execute the Pulwama conspiracy and was encountered in March 2019.
As per the officials “the charges-sheet has irrefutable evidence – technical, material and circumstantial – on Pakistan’s role in the attack”. The agency has also cited the involvement of JeM and arrested accused, and also mentioned the details related to chat and call details of terrorists.
“Pakistan used Adil Ahmad Dar, a local resident who rammed an explosive-laden car into a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, as a suicide bomber to project the attack as a result of a home-grown militancy against India’s occupation of Kashmir,” said an officer.
