A special CBI court on Wednesday has issued an arrest warrant against the absconding Trinamool Youth Congress leader Vinay Mishra in connection to his alleged involvement in the cross-border cow smuggling racket in West Bengal.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned Vinay Mishra several times during the last one month period and the last summon was served on January 19. But he has not responded to the summons. The agency has also issued a lookout notice against Mishra.
Taking note of the non-cooperation by TMC leader Vinay Mishra, a special CBI court at Asansol has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the leader.
Recently, the central investigation agency has raided his residence at Kolkata’s Rashbihari Avenue area but failed to arrest him as he was absconding.
CBI had filed an FIR against the six persons on September 21, 2020. The FIR named Vinay Mishra, then commandant, 36 Battalion, BSF, three individuals, unknown public servants, and private persons.
Vinay Mishra has been serving as one of the General Secretaries of the Trinamool Youth Congress.
