Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested former Bigg Boss contestant and actor Ajaz Khan after eight hours of interrogation in connection to the drug case. He was detained from the airport on Tuesday for questioning over restricted drugs found at his Mumbai residence.
NCB submitted that they found alprazolam tablets from his home while conducting raids in Mumbai’s Andheri and Lokhandwala areas. They also said that Ajaz Khan is a part of narcotics peddler Shadab Farooque Shaikh alias Shadab Batata’s syndicate.
2 kilograms of the banned mephedrone drug was recovered from Farooque Shaikh and he was arrested on Thursday. After Ajaz Khan’s name cropped up during the interrogation of drug peddler Shadab Batata, NCB detained him at Mumbai airport while he was coming from Rajasthan.
While talking to the media, the actor claimed that he was not detained, instead, he had gone for interrogation voluntarily. “Neither was anything found from my home nor from the airport,” he said.
When he was asked repeatedly about the recovered drugs, he said, “Nothing. Ask them where they got it, what they got was four sleeping pills. My wife had miscarried and was in depression. She was taking those pills.”
The whole investigation revolves around the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Many Bollywood biggies including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and many others were questioned in connection to the case.
