s per sources, the Delhi Police on 29 January has released photos of around 70 people, who were allegedly involved in violence during the anti-CAA protests on 15 December 2019 near Jamia Millia Islamia.

The students of Jamia Millia Islamia University had on 15 December ragged with massive protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC). The police had reportedly thrown teargas shells inside the campus and allegedly dragged the students out of the library.

According to the officials, the police had registered a case at Jamia Nagar police station under various sections of IPC for rioting, obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions and assault or criminal force to deter public servant from his duty. A second case was registered at New Friends Colony police station under the IPC sections for rioting, arson, unlawful assembly and damage to public property. The Special Investigation Team of Crime Branch is investigating the cases, the officials said.
