In a jaw-dropping turn of events at a police station in Uttar Pradesh, a routine passport verification inquiry turned into a nightmare for 55-year-old Ishrat, as she was mistakenly shot in the head by a Sub-Inspector’s (SI) pistol. The chilling incident, captured on CCTV footage, unfolded at approximately 2:50 pm at the Aligarh police station, leaving the victim in critical condition.

The shocking video reveals Ishrat standing with her son, patiently awaiting her turn when a police official hands a loaded pistol to SI Manoj Sharma. As Sharma was seemingly cleaning the firearm, a deafening shot echoed through the station, sending Ishrat crashing to the floor. The horrifying footage showcases the sheer negligence that led to this tragic accident.

Ishrat, who had visited the police station for a routine passport verification, was rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in critical condition. According to Dr. Manzoor Harris Khan, the principal of the medical college, the bullet remains lodged in Ishrat’s head, and the decision to operate is under careful consideration.

The victim’s family has leveled disturbing allegations, claiming that Ishrat was being harassed for money by the officer responsible for her passport verification. An altercation ensued, culminating in the officer firing the fatal shot, as per the family’s claims.

Jeeshan, a relative of the injured woman, stated, “She had visited the police station for passport enquiry. She was getting calls for money. Don’t know who shot her. Don’t know about the money demanded. There was an argument between them.”

In response to the incident, SSP Kalanidhi Naithani swiftly took action, suspending Inspector Manoj Sharma due to his apparent negligence. A criminal case has been registered against Sharma, who is currently on the run.

The injured woman is being treated by the doctor’s team, the footage of the incident is being investigated by the field unit,” assured SSP Naithani, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against the accused policeman.

The woman, identified as Ishrat, had plans to undertake a mini-pilgrimage, Umrah, in Saudi Arabia. However, her aspirations have been tragically interrupted by the shocking turn of events at the Aligarh police station. As the investigation unfolds, the community anxiously awaits justice for Ishrat and accountability for the grave lapse in security that led to this horrific incident.
